Set up Shift Picker in Chrome
Do this in Google Chrome, on the computer you want it on — Windows or Mac, the steps are the
same. It takes about 2 minutes, once.
Shift Picker comes from the official Chrome Web Store, like any other Chrome extension. There is
nothing to download or unpack yourself, and Chrome keeps it up to date for you.
This is for a computer, in Chrome. If you bought a phone or iPad, use the
phone setup
instead.

Add Shift Picker to Chrome
Install Shift Picker from the Chrome Web Store
- Click the green button above. The Chrome Web Store opens on the Shift Picker page.
- Click Add to Chrome.
- A small box asks you to confirm. Click Add extension.
That’s the whole install. Chrome may ask you to sign in to Chrome first — that’s Chrome’s own step,
not Shift Picker’s.

Pin it, so it’s easy to find
- Click the puzzle-piece icon at the top right of Chrome.
- Click the pin next to Shift Picker. Its green S icon now
stays in the toolbar.

Enter your code (one time)
- Open A to Z in Chrome and sign in yourself, as normal.
Shift Picker never asks for your password and never sees it.
- Go to Find Shifts.
- Click the Shift Picker icon in the toolbar, paste the code you were sent,
and click Activate.
- It says Armed. That’s it — it won’t ask again on this computer.
At noon
Use it at the drop
- A few minutes before noon, open A to Z in Chrome, go to Find Shifts, and pick the day you want.
- Check the Shift Picker popup says Armed.
- Keep that A to Z tab on screen at noon, and don’t let the computer sleep.
Chrome slows down tabs hidden behind other tabs, so at noon the A to Z tab should be the one
showing.
- It claims your shift automatically when it drops.
Updates
Keeping Shift Picker up to date
Nothing to do. Chrome updates Shift Picker by itself, the same way it updates every other
extension from the Chrome Web Store.
Did Shift Picker tell you a newer version is available? Then your copy was set up the older way, from a
folder on your computer, and it can’t update itself.
It keeps working as it is — you don’t have to change
anything today. To switch to the Chrome Web Store version, which updates by itself:
- First, message whoever sold you Shift Picker and ask them to free up this computer.
Your code stays the same. Until they do, the new copy can’t use your code, because your code is
still set up on the old copy.
- After they say it’s done, remove the old copy: click the puzzle-piece icon at the top
right of Chrome, click the three dots next to Shift Picker, and choose
Remove from Chrome.
- Do Steps 1 to 3 above, and enter the same code.
Your code works on the devices you bought, and no more. Changed computers or lost access? Message whoever
sold it to you — they can free up that one device without touching your other devices.
